The HUSH Foundation®
We Provide Hope Under Severe Hardship

Special Events Department
Our Most Recent Fundraising Event

The HUSH Foundation uses Special Events to raise money to provide grants for children, adolescents and the elderly. Our
primary focus is to raise funds to support children, and adolescents who have terminal, infectious, and disabling diseases or
conditions. We also support the elderly. Read about our most recent joyous event!

We adopted the theory that “creative expression is linked to laughter,” which has a positive effect on individuals
psychologically and physiologically.  Several noted scientific studies have determined that laughter can give the body up to
45 minutes of therapeutic relaxation.  It can also do the following:

Relieve negative emotions ( i.e. anxiety and depression)
Relieve stress
Improve lung capacity and oxygen levels in the blood
Release endorphins (the body's natural pain killers) into the blood stream
Provide help with insomnia, migraines, allergies, and ulcers
Reduce the heart rate
Stimulate the appetite and digestion
Expand the blood vessels
Send more oxygen to every cell in the body
Speed  tissue healing
Stabilize many body functions, and
Produce a feeling of well being

Our belief in this theory motivated us to develop ideas for events that would help induce a person’s feelings of happiness, fun, enjoyment, and excitement - giving people a haven in which to escape from the reality of their devastation. Thus, our
“Special Events” will provide therapeutic relief through creative expression by means of entertaining, multifaceted,
comprehensive, and innovative performing arts productions (e.g., events consisting of song, dance, drama, comedy,
poetry/spoken word, life interpretation of art, and fashion, choral productions, music-based educational seminars, benefit
shows/concerts, etc.).

Under our Children & Adolescent Disease Awareness Outreach Program (CADAOP), The HUSH Foundation hosted their 1st
Annual
"Night of Jazz and Fashion By The Sea Benefit Concert" on August 30, 2008, at the Hermosa Beach Community
Theater, in beautiful Hermosa Beach, California to raise funds for children with HIV/AIDS.

The HUSH Foundation hosted the event to support  One Heartland for their program and services devoted to ensuring that
children with HIV/AIDS have the social, psychological and material support required to fulfill their potential in life, and support
Pediatric HIV/AIDS Research.

The Jazz/Fashion Benefit Concert consisted of a joyous environment filled with fun and excitement. It was a Red Carpet affair
with a Star-Studded cast. If you were not there, you missed a fabulous show.
Click here to take look at the event, the Line up
and our
Honorees. We will be adding pictures and a video of the event soon!Activities included live Jazz Entertainment
incorporated with an exquisite
high fashion show, and a tribute to six legendary female jazz artists. Tickets were sold at Ticket
Master and The HUSH Foundation.

The Wellness Expo/Care Market

According to national statistics, 25 million kids (one of every three), in the United States, between ages 2-19, are overweight
or at risk of becoming overweight? Childhood obesity is a serious issue and is one of our nation’s leading health threats.

To help raise awareness, The HUSH Foundation is developing plans to host a Wellness Expo/Care Market to educate
children and their parents on the danger of Childhood Obesity (COB) and the diseases directly related to COB.  In addition,
The HUSH Foundation donate some of the proceeds from the Wellness Expo/Care Market to support research to find a cure
for Cancer in babies.

Learn how to live and practice healthy living by making healthy choices.  The HUSH Foundation Wellness Expo/Care Market
activities will include a one-on-one consultation with various health experts, free health screenings, massage therapy, healthy
food, music, and various vendors. For more information about the upcoming Health Fair, if you would like to volunteer or if
you would like to participate as a vendor, contact The HUSH Foundation at 310-697-8193 or email us at
